One Woman in One Boat on One Pacific Ocean

Roz Savage embarks on her biggest eXtrack challenge yet, to become the first woman in history to row over the Pacific Ocean, in her alternative energy powered 24-foot rowboat.

MarineTrack will follow her every stroke using their latest track and trace satellite technology. Her support team will monitor her progress on the internet throughout her journey.

Going on a manifesto of environmental and biological research and awareness, Roz has begun her biggest MarineTrack eXtrack challenge totalling 6,700 miles over 3 stages, which is about three times the journey she trekked when navigating across the Atlantic . The first leg of the passage originates in the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary and will end in the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale Sanctuary. From San Francisco to Hawaii , Roz will track over 2,600 miles.

Roz has received international coverage with hundreds of broadcasts and 10,000 hits on her website in the last week with grand support form many well wishing blog comments online.

So when any regular strong woman would have had enough - Roz has taken the support of MarineTrack tracking and positioning to help her feel confident and secure on route whilst being tracked, live online throughout her journey.

"On the Atlantic I learned a lot about how NOT to row an ocean", she says. "If I'd known at the start what I'd learned by the end, I would have found it less of a struggle. The only way I can make sure I've truly learned the lesson is to put myself to the test once again."
